Black C-3PO

29 10 2011

Found this on Funny or Die, thought I would share it with you.

During the re-release of the original Star Wars movies to Blu-Ray, George Lucas had been toying with the idea of having a “more modern, urban sounding” C-3PO. This was the result.

C-3PO Samurai???

9 01 2011

Japanese Samurai C-3PO

Taken from Samurai Wars “Chiapo” — Samurai Wars is a line of custom figures that imagines what a Star Wars movie directed by Akira Kurosawa would look like. George Lucas has said what a fan he is a Kurosawa and also the influence that Kurosawa’s “The Hidden Fortress” had on Star Wars. At the bottom of the page is a fake write up that I did for a convention that claims this is a real movie.

Chipao / C-3PO

For 3PO I went with a tall and lean body type. I used various browns and yellows for his golden color. I tried to capture 3PO’s stuffy demeanor with the arm pose. The golden disc is representative of 3PO’s stomach disc, and the black sash would be his exposed wires.

I really enjoyed this and thought I would share it with the rest of the C-3PO fan base… see the rest of the characters here: http://linkive.com/home/browser/MTU5Njk5/Comedy/How%20Akira%20Kurosawa%27s%20Star%20Wars%20characters%20would%20have%20looked

Galactic Empire State of Mind

10 08 2010

Although this video is not specific to C-3PO, we are going to let it slide this one time, because it is so worth showing you this video. C-3PO does make an appearance (42 sec & 1min 20sec), and busts a move. If you haven’t seen it yet now is your chance. This video is a parody on Jay-Z’s New York State of Mind. Also, if your lady friend isn’t a Star Wars fan, this song could help her get the jist of the story line! So sit back and enjoy!

This video was found originally on CollegeHumor.com and the version below was found on youtube for embedding purposes.

What Would C-3PO Do?

12 07 2010

A new blog added to the universe of C-3PO, titled “What Would C-3PO Do?”

The purpose of this blog is to set up some hypothetical situations, and place C-3PO in that situation, and to discuss how he would react in the given situation.

This blog has a good premise and is showing some promise, we will see where it goes from there. I am excited to see where it goes, and sheds some more of the spotlight on the golden protocol droid!

You can view the blog at the following address:

Description:
C-3PO Portrait Plate
Modern Portrait Plate
Altered Antique Plate

This is a super sweet antique, hand painted, porcelain plate. It has a wonderful pink and purple floral design with a light blue watercolor wash background. It appears to be old (40’s?) but there are no markings.

This is a small plate with a diameter of 6.5″.

I have used a transfer and heat technique to seal the image into the plate.

This can be used as a decorative modern portrait wall hanging or as a super cool desk accessory. This plate is for decorative purposes and not made to be eaten off.

Check out my other altered antique plates!

Discounts available if you are interested in multiple plates.

Let me know if you want to purchase a wire hanger to hang the plate on the wall. This is a flat rate addition of $4.00.

c-3po plush back pack

This is the most amazing addition to the C-3PO fashion category, and an exciting addition to school day fashion. I want one for sure, and I think you should force your kids to rock it as well, if they don’t like C-3PO… tell them this is as close to being Chewbacca as they can get before college. HA!

A post I found at:
http://www.ohgizmo.com
A user wrote about a C-3PO backpack, so I had to share this. he post is located here: http://www.ohgizmo.com/2010/02/24/star-wars-c-3po-and-boba-fett-backpacks-make-me-wish-i-could-go-back-to-grade-school-again/

I decided to track down the source of this awesome school accessory, and located the original blog post here:
