After releasing something like 13 different sneakers together this year, you may have been wondering why George Lucas and his Star Wars brand failed to honor R2 D2 and C-3PO in their collection with adidas Originals. Having put together shoes for many of the staple characters, bots and ships part of the Star Wars empire, we were in question as to why there was nothing honoring the robotic friends. As it turns out they weren’t forgotten, they were just held over for the continuation of the Star Wars x adidas Originals set to launch in the coming months. To pay tribute to the two galactic buddies, adidas and Star Wars produced a Top Ten Low using a 50/50 split with representation of R2 D2 on the outer side of the upper and C-3PO on the inner side. Graphics of both characters are also split between the tongue tags. According to Freshness, the sneakers are set to launch sometime in September. Being that C-3PO fashion seems to be making it’s way into the mainstream, a venture of research was undertaken to located a C-3PO shoe. What was found was not that produced by Adiddas, but by rival Nike found on widefashion.com

The article read as follows:

The Nike Blazer ‘C3PO’ Customs sneaker is without doubt an attractive footwear that will make you proud. If you’re a Star Wars fan then the name would definitely ring a bell. C3PO is surely one of the lovable characters in the series which got the fancy of movie freaks.

The sneaker comes in a gold foil material making it a real C3PO look-alike, except that it doesn’t talk like a robot.
